As a member of the board of Whidbey Island Share a Home (W.I.S.H.) it comes as no surprise that more and more non-relative and non-spouse and non-cohabitating partners are sharing homes today.

Yesterday, the U.S. Census Bureau released the latest figures on this rising number across the United States. In 2011, 17.9 percent of people 18 and older lived in someone else’s household, up from 16.0 percent in 2007, prior to the start of the economic recession.
